MAC Temting, Expensive Pink, Satin Taupe, Mulch, Cranberry

I got Expensive Pink, Satin Taupe, Mulch, Cranberry in March. I knew I have been lazy lately, but didn't know I was THIS lazy.

To start off, I would like to show my favourite MAC eyeshadows.

Retrospeck, Soba, Woodwinked

These are the shadows I reach without thinking or planning. Basic skin coloured Soba on all over lead, shimmery light coloured Retrospeck on the inner third of eye, and bronzy Woodwinked on the outer third of eye. This is really easy and quick way to do eye makeup for everyday, even in summer, and I thought I need more colours to expand this routine.

Tempting, Mulch, Satin Taupe

So I got Tempting, Mulch, and Satin Taupe. Tempting is a basic brown colour on me, with little less shimmer than Woodwinked. Could be described as classic warm toned brown. Mulch is somewhat similar colour except that this one is a lot less showing its colour. It is more lightly pigmented, and of course less impact if I apply this on the edge of my eyes.  That means I can blend Mulch with other warm toned colours other than brown, just to give the  colour a depth. Satin Taupe, on the other hand, is  cool toned brown. I have Maybelline Color Tattoo Bad to the Bronze, so I knew cool brown wouldn't harm me on my eyes. This one actually is becoming one of my favourite colours. It is very easy to  apply on the crease area and blend it out. Satin Taupe shows brown more boldly, compare to Mulch and Tempting on my skin. It is good thing since I wear glasses and need more definition of my eyes.

Retrospeck, Soba, Woodwinked, Tempting, Mulch, Satin Taupe

The light in previous two pictures are different, so I took this full shot of all the shadows for comparison.

Expensive Pink, Cranberry
These two are first none-brown shadow purchase from MAC. I got a recombination on these shades because they are kind of spring colours, and easily blendable with Mulch and Satin Taupe. I paired Expensive Pink - Mulch. This combination is kind of classic everyday makeup for warm toned person. Warmy peach pink shade blended with light brown, this match is good for the occasion like first time meeting your mother-in-law-to-be. Then I paired Cranberry with Satin Taupe. Kind of classic, eh? This pair apparently is becoming one of none-thinking eye makeups. If I need to out for grocery shopping, meeting friends for lunch, whatever occasion, I reach these and get ready.

Shades all together
This is picture of all the shadows together.

NOTD: Essie Laylike

I feel like it's been an year since my last post. There are so many things happened, but let's leave the long story there for later, and start with short NOTD post!

Essie Ladylike

Many things happened in this April, and I needed to hold myself tight with L'oreal Redtote. Bold and colourful nailtip always remind me to stay awake!

When almost everything is settled, I was missing a soft, kind of healing-my-mind colour. You know, that kind of moment when busy working hours are done, and you have a glass of wine on your hand and relax on a sofa. Today is that kind of day for me. So I reached Essie Ladylike. This brownish pink colour is good for everyday, and someday  when you feel like "calmed" and relaxed.

From LA

I almost forgot to post this.

This is one of my HAPPY pictures in LA. Nice sunny weather there made me smile a lot.

I visited LA as my anniversary trip. It seems right choice since its's big city with warm/nice weather which I cannot have in Fort McMurray.

So we got our anniversary ring. I was totally fine with my rings, but my husband wasn't. Prongs for his diamond ring really bothered him when he washed his hair, that's what he said. So we decided to get anniversary rings, one without any stone. Simple titanium ring that is, and boy he is so happy.

We also got new shoes. It's nothing fancy, but it was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo comfortable during our trip. Since we didn't rent a car, we walked a lot to get metro and bus. My fancy white-red sneaker was good for picture, but it made my feet tired. When I switched to new one, I instantly said It's heavenly!  Very light with nice cushion for more than 8 hours of walk a day.  It's amazing! I recommended this to every one who would like to walk a lot when they travel.

My new wallet. I got my previous one in 2007 when I was new to Canada. I didn't care much about how-many-years-I-would-carry-the-coins. I had no plan to stay in Canada more than a year at that time. My old wallet looked great, but its snap button closure for coin is not helping me. It leaked coins many times. New one has zipper closure for coin which ensure me that I wouldn't need to dig my bag to find coins.

I got them at Sephora. Nars Light Reflecting Powder is amazing one. Very light-weighted powder with not-significant shimmer that sets the make up without killing the light on my face. I really like the powder, and will review the item probably within a month. The Miracle Skin Transformer is a miracle for me now. This is the reason I was not in LOVE with the Nars Powder. It has silicone in it, so if you have allergy or you are on a "-cone diet", this is not for you. But if you don't care about the ingredient, do try some of their samples. It has the Soft-focused effect on my skin, and I can be naturally pretty without foundation/ tinted moisturizer. Detailed review will be posted later.

I got these Banana Republic perfume W, and Wildbloom. 15ml package is not threatening my make up desk, nothing like my 100ml perfumes.
First one would be my main/ signature fragrance. The box says A SHEER, REFRESHING FRAGRANCE FOR WOMEN. I guess I can spray this on every clothes I have for all the seasons other than winter. So I got Wildbloom for winter. The box says A WITTY BLEND OF SPARKLING FRUIT AND WATERY FLORALS. More feminine scent would be easier to wear with warm, knit shirts in winter.

I also got MAC Satin Taupe, Mulch, Cranberry, Expensive Pink. I had long wishlist for months, but I googled swatches of these products for weeks and narrowed down to these four shades. Satin Taupe and Mulch joined my powerful kingdom of brown-eyeshadows, and feel safe there. Cranberry and Expensive Pink are relatively new shades and colour, because I didn't buy many non-brown coloured eye shadows for years. My first experience of non-brown eyeshadow was on my wedding day in 2012. Since then, I was thinking about getting some new shades, but that thinking took almost an year. Now I love them a lot, use them a lot. I apply two of them almost every day after trip/purchase. These would be the first to be review among products in this post.

NOTD: China Glaze in Jingle Bells

It's been a while since my last NOTD update. I felt calm-down effect with Grey Area, and need some cheer up for coming spring. Yes, Sprrrrrrrrrrrring! Though I still can see snow and ice on the road, I feel a little warmer wind on my cheek. It is getting warmer, and spring will come soon. I hope.

China Glaze in Jingle Bells

This shimmery golden colour is probably a colour for every one.  I saw many swatches on fair, medium, and tan skin. It creates very clean and natural look, and doesn't bother with colour of skin. If you read my previous posts, you will know that I tent to buy warm, bold colours, because of the tone and colour of my skin.
This colour have zero boldness which makes the product matches to whatever colour of shirt you wear, as well. Blue, red, green, orange... You name it, and they're good match. Recently I try some bright coloured shirts, since spring is coming. I guess I will keep this match-them-all nail tip for the (short) spring season so that I can wear nice spring colours for short spring.

NOTD: Sally Hansen Grey Area

I felt very sad on 17th when I came back to Fort McMurray from LA. That is a quite a distance I flew within a day, and the difference in the air frustrated me. It's like you feel the spring on your skin, then suddenly it's gone. That sadness. You can see snow and ice everywhere if you open your window, and the temperature outside is -4'c. Seems like warm enough for Fort McMurray, but there has been a Winter Storm Warning since yesterday.

I may need to cheer up myself with light coloured nail tips, but first I need to admit the reality I am facing, that I live in the northern Alberta. So here is my choice.

Sally Hansen Grey Area
Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in Greay Area. The name of the coluors seems like it has some connection with the city I live.

This one has matte finish in purplish grey. Not a single finely-milled shimmer in the bottle, not even when you see it under the sun. I think plain matte dark colour would show more of its colour when it's without top coat. So here, I didn't bothered applying top coat.

Sally Hansen Flirt

A week has been passed without one post on this blog. I was busy to finish planning my March trip, and writing some resume. They are really never-ending job to do.

I feel warmth in the air recently. It's not like real spring is here, but I feel like I smell it. Little warmth of temperature above -10'C is all I want for February. Seriously, how can I wish for more than that while I live in Northern Albert?

Before March and my trip to Southern California, I wanted to post this nail colour. It is a wine coloured one with flirty name.

Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in Flirt.

Sally Hansen Flirt

I see small red-ish glitters in purple bottle. If you see the bottle, little-dark purple shade is probably all you can see. That's what I saw.

But when applied, the colour is kinda transformed into wine-like shade, and the shimmers are non-visibly working for shiny look of nails  The name is showing its nature perfectly! Fancy name persuaded me to buy her, and apparently this was my favourite nail colour for February. I tried Essie Turquoise & Caicos once, but I felt like I applied the colour too soon. BTW the colour is beautiful! I hope I can manage sometime to post that colour soon =)

Revlon Colorbusrt Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti, Berry Smoothie, and Cherry Tart,

Tuttil Frutti, Berry Smoothie, Cherry Tart
As I mentioned in the former post, I got three of them now. I feel little too late to get only-three of them, since they are quite a hit in the market, but I can get more of them sooner later ;)

My first purchase was Tutti Frutti. It looked like vibrant orange-red on someone, well someone in the picture on some blogs I read. I really like red-ish colour that makes my face look energetic and fresh! So I bought this one.

But see how this one shows its colour on me.

Tutti Frutti

Yes, it is vibrant orange colour, but not orange-red colour I was expecting. This was a disappointment to me, because I paid full price for un-desired colour. It did cheer me up when I feel blue and lonely, but I didn't use this one frequently.

There the 4.99 sale came to me, then I was possessed.

Tuttil Frutti, Berry Smoothie, Cherry Tart
Here is the outcome!
If I tested before my purchase of Tutti Frutti, I might know that the colour is too much of orange colour for me.

Berry Smoothie
Berry Smoothie is a lovely medium pinkish shade with a hint of berry colour. Pink and berry shades tend to be none of my favourite colour, but this is certainly amazing colour that really suits my warm-toned skin. I am sure this will be my MLBB colour on-the-go.

Cherry Tart
This is another lovely shade! I love this pinkish red colour on me, and it's very wearable colour for almost everyone. When I read some review, many said that it is wearable colour for people with pink undertone. This is also wearable for me, one with yellow undertone, too. Someone compared this one with Candy Apple which is a matte red-red shade, but A review mentioning MAC Cyndi make me buy this. Same finish and colour, but this one is cooler-toned and more sheer. I was just so happy with this swatch, so I posted a self-portrait on Instagram.

Revlon Lip Butters are on sale!

Only Sunday and Monday(Feb17 and 18) at Shoppers Drugmart, and whole week (until Feb21) at Superstore/Extrafood! One Revlon Lip Butter costs me 4.97!

So I got two of them. When the sale price is almost half of its original price, I don't get one for half-price. I get two for price of one. ;)

I already have Tutti Frutti, and purchased Berry Smoothie and Cherry Tart.
Review post will be here soon!

Winter skincare routine

I was seeking for good moisturizer from October 2012, and now I am settled down with some products. I no longer feel driness and itchness. Not only my hubby saying my skin feels soft and nice, but also my mother-in-law asked me what I am using.

So I am somewhat confidently posting this.
- Yes, they work for me, but not sure it would be the same thing for you.

In the morning, I wash my face with Garnier Moisture Rescue Cleaning Foam. then apply InfiniteAloe Advanced Formula Skin Care cream and Olay Complete SPF 30 Defense  for Sensitive Skin. (Here I used the Olay Moisturizer as a sunscreen)
Then apply make up, depends on what I like to use.

In the evening, I wet my cotton pad with Bioderma Sebium H2O to remove makeup, and cleanse rest of the makeup, dirt, and oil with Clarisonic Mia and Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Cleansing Bar for Face and Body. And wet my cotton pad with Clinique Clarifying Lotion2 to remove residue if they still exist. To misturize my face and neck,I apply TheBodyShop VitaminC Facial Radiance CapsulesInfiniteAloe Advanced Formula Skin Care cream, and Bio-Oil.

In the weekend, I put BeautiControl Detox Spa Detoxifying Clay Masque on me. I still have few before-period acne, and I think this clay mask preventing me from breakout while moisturizing my skin. I also like to use Freeman Bare Foot Softening Foot Soak with Invigorating Peppermint & Plum. Foot soak is good for my health and heel. Also use this dermabrasional device I got from Korea. There are so many of them, but this one is cheeper!

When I planned my routine, I was thinking...
  • I only need to remove natural oils in the morning, and moisturize my skin before makeup. Simple but effective products are needed.
  • In the evening, I need to remove all the makeup and residue and etc. My skin need to sleep and relax while I sleep. Remove everything, and rebuild moisturizing barrier. I wake up in the midnight more than two times because I feel thirsty. My skin shouldn't.
  • Method matters. Massage everytime I apply moisturizer.
  • I know full-bath and lower-body bathing is better than foot soak, but I want something I can continue in summer time as well.

FYI, I attach a google map of the states and Canada.

Can you see the little red flag? I am there! I live in the city where one can see aurora once a year, if one wake up at 04:00ish. I hope this would explain why my skin type varies from oily combination to dry combination, and why I was so desperately looking for a good moisturizer.

Unboxiing: Nars And God Created The Woman Eye Kit

Hi,

I ordered them on 29th of January, but there are some issue like two separate accounts on my card and sephora online, and the package going through "border" while the shipment started from Toronto, ON. Seriously, I found that there is a Borderfree sticker on the box.

Sephora logo on the box

I only ordered two items, so the box is relatively smaller than other boxes I got.

Everything out of the box

Here is what I got.
  • SEPHORA COLLECTION/ Pro Smoky Liner #24
  • NARS/ And God Created The Woman Set
  • Josie Maran/ Argan Cleansing Oil deluxe sample
  • Lab Series For Men/ Daily Moisture Defense Lotion deluxe sample
  • Bvlgari AQVA pour Homme Marine/ samples
  • Paco Rabanne 1 Million/ samples
  • Paco Rabanne Lady Million/ samples

Freeeeeeeeeee!

Five of them are samples. I saw many "better" samples I wish I could get, but they are not available to ship to Canada. *sad*
I am planning an anniversary trip to California in March, so I picked Josie Maran/ Argan Cleansing Oil  for evening cleansing, and Lab Series For Men/ Daily Moisture Defense Lotion SPF15 for mid-day touch-ups.
While there is select-three-perfume-samples promo, Bvlgari AQVA pour Homme Marine seems like the only thing my hubby would wear for trip. Nice and easy one for "hotter" weather. But I also choose Paco Rabanne 1 Million and Lady Million for a few occasion like visiting nice restaurant for anniversary dinner.

These are what I ordered.

I heard this is a good dupe of MAC pencil brush. It is sharp-ended, and firm brush. The protector is designed for this brush only, I guess, and it is perfectly securing the product.  Good one for trip!

The palette and mini brush. The shades are mentioned on the box, not on the palette.
Alhambra    Kalahari               Bellissima
Galapagos  Coconut Groove  Night Clubbing

The colour looks gorgeous on the pan. I didn't have much time to swatch and do makeup, but the shades are available as ongoing single or duo shadow. So I think I can google some swatches and make my new look!
Mini eye brush is soft, and this 7mm-thick flat-rectangled shape can be used for everyday make up. I cannot make any sharp details with this, but I can apply all-over-lid with its flat side and smudge eye line with dark shadow using its tip.

I am so excited with mail arrived, having enough time to study the shades before my trip!

Suggesting & Planning my V-day look

I was busy yesterday, and couldn't read my so-called Daily reads. So I read them today,  some of theme were Lipstick Bandits posts. Their theme was V-day, and I was like "Why don't I try to suggest V-day look? Or plan mine?" This is how this post started.

What I used today

First, I prep my skin with moisturizer and lip balm. First things first, eh?

Clinique Evenbetter concealer Porcelain, and Nars Tinted Moisturizer Alaska
Then I apply concealer with flat foundation brush. Foundation bush tends to be broader/bigger than concealer brush, and that saves a lot brushing motion. And I buff my tinted moisturizer with buffing brush. By the way, it only has been a month since I started using these brushes, I am so in love with them. I feel so good that my hands get less messy. So I am thinking about buying a acrylic palette for makeup. Then my hands will be truly mess-free, without foundation and concealer.

Clinique Blended face powder Invisible blend

Once foundation is done, I powder them so that they are set. I brush most of my face except nose, around nose, and eye brow. There, I use patting motion with thick and big powder puff. These are oily areas where I want no grease on them.

The base makeup is done, so I move on to eye makeup. I prime my eyelid with Too Faced shadow insurance. While the primer sets, I selected shadows. This look is for Valentines day, "official" romantic day of a year. So I picked up pink and purple.

Laneige dual e/s ShinePink& Purple, and Nars e/s duo Kuala Lumpur

I used pink side of the pencil  for all over my eyelid, and cover it with rosy pink colour with gold shimmer. Then line with purple side of pencil, and lightly smudge it with brownish purple colour.

Nars Blusher Deep Throat, and MAC Lipstick Giddy

Fort my cheek I applied peach-pink blusher, and I picked up pink lipstick which has hint of coral in natural light.

So this is my almost-final look for V-day, I planned for myself.

Without glasses.

and this is my final look.

With my favourite glasses

Do you like it?

NOTD: Essie Ballet slippers

This is one of famous bridal nail colours I heard. I got this one in winter, and felt cold while I watch my nailtips. So I don't often wear this, but today I thought of my wedding day while I was on the phone with my mom. It has been almost an year since the day, and I was planning first-anniversary trip. Why not be in the mood of wedding day again?

Essie Ballet slippers

Pale pink colour it is. I told you I felt cold when I watch my nailtips. You can see why. This is a picture of three coats of Essie Ballet slippers.  The colour is elegant and feminine, and it looks more beautiful with light coloured shirts. I wore this with white blouse and grey vest.

Because its "reputation as bridal nail colour," I thought some may like to see it with tings. Here is my picture.
With rings
I have little scar from "hot coffee" between my thumb and index finger, so I cut the picture not to show it. No mysterious thing here.

I think I would wear this when I feel like to be feminine, but my nail taste tent to like bold and warm colours. That means I already got bold ones: purplish-grey and plumy nail colours. I will get some picture of those sooner later =)

NOTD: Maybelline Auburn Ablaze

It's winter time and who doesn't like the warmth on their tips? In addition, I tend to wear warm colours for most of the seasons since I have yellow-base skintone. That's skintone-friendly colour choice for me =D

Maybelline Auburn Ablaze

This brownish plum colour is one of my winter favourite for 2012. It has hint of brown which is kinda good match to warm tone skin, and the plum colour is not really standing out which is the point that makes this products a staple. That means very wearable feminine colour to me, even with green long sleeved shirt.

I picked up hoping for somewhat dried-blood colour. I live in a real small city where I have No Sephora, No Costco, No Sears building, No H&M, and No subway. Seriously. Also winter in this city is longer than half an year, and we had "feels like -42C" on 20th of January 2013. I heard "how the winter is like" before fall which seems like only 2 days, so I desperately NEEDED something to cheer up myself for upcoming winter, and purchased this without a glace on swatch of this colour. But this one is darker than my expectation. So after one application, I didn't like it.

Whether I like it or not, grocery store I got this doesn't have refund policy for opened/used one from other than their own brand(e.g. Great Value at Walmart). So guess what? I gave this two more tries, simply because I didn't have winter colour. Back then, I didn't do much of colouring my nail. This is my first nail colour I purchased in Canada, and I didn't put many of my nail polishes from my Korean home I stayed for 2 years. I was sort of plain nail girl for months. In summer, I was happy with China glaze Yee-Haw and Jingle Bells.

Anyway, I don't know what kind of magic the two more application did, but the colour is just simply adorable and suit for everyday, and that makes me sad that this is one of limited edition. =(    I guess I will buy a thinner sometime later.

MOTD 2013-01-17

I have a dinner with in-laws today at local restaurant. Not a frequent thing that would occur, so I thought I would wear a make up for it. I don't work right now, so wearing a make up is totally up to what I like to do.

There are what I used today.
- Nars Bronzer Laguna
- Nars Blusher Deep Throat
- Nars Tinted Moisturizer Alaska
- L'oreal Carresse Sunset Angora
- Almay Shimmer-i for brown
- Marcelle Browduo Dark
- RealTechnique Travel essential
- Clinique Even better Concealer Porcelain(VF)
- Clinique Blended face powder Invisible blend (I forgot to take a picture of it)

I applied concealer to around the nose, undereye, and tinted moisturizer to all over my face with the foundation brush. The concealer is lighter than my skin colour, but it is ok since I use it under the foundation. That lightens up some dark area before foundation, then the foundation sets on it when I blend it.

I also put Vaseline on my lip to prep for lipstick. Caresse seems like moisturizing lipstick, but it doesn't feels like. It is not drying matte lip stick, but apparently not sheer moisturizing one.

Then I powdered oily areas, and applied bronzer and blush on cheek. Powder is only there to set the foundation, and the colours I picked for my bronzer and blush is easy to blend and good colours for everyday. Well, at least for me.

Almay shadow trio is gentle and nicely pigmented with proper amount of shimmer that doesn't stand out. My in-laws never said a good thing about celebrities with bold colour &sparkling make up, so I assume that they don't prefer that kind of make up. I think this neutral pinkish coral and brown trio with very finely grounded shimmer is good choice for this kind of meeting/appointment/dinner. Lip colour is picked in that sense as well. Vaseline should moisturized my lip while I apply eyeshadow and cheek make up. I removed the greasy ointment on my lip with pursing motion, then applied the lipstick. Light application of this product would balance the eye and lip make up.

As the final step, I fill the empty spots of my brows and brush them with transparent mascara. I love this browduo from Marcelle that has both brow pencil and clear mascara in one stick. It is just so convenient to use both edge with lesser mess on bath counter, and to carry with me :)

This is my final look!

Parcel from iHerb, and something from Drugstore

I got some notice card from Canada Post yesterday. Two boxes of Korean foods from my friend in Vancouver, and one box from iHerb came in. Since international shipping is either difficult or expensive, I prefer iHerb's FREE SHIPPING events =) I ordered them on 31st of December, and they came here today! It is not 7-business-day like what they said, I am ok as long as they come.

These are what I got! Real Techniques Core collection, Travel essential, and blusher brushes!
Most brushes of two collections are for face, and I ordered both at the same time on purpose. I love my beautyblender, but I am wondering what it is like to applying foundation with RT brushes after reading all the rave reviews. Some said stippling brush is the best, but I don't like to do the motion of stippling; it seems like the motion needs more patience than I have.

Core collection has 4 face brushes including brushes that I will use for concealer, highlighter, foundation, and bronzer. The collection is designed as one Detailer brush for concealer, Pinted Foundation Brush to build custom coverage, Buffing Brush for powder/mineral foundation, and Contour Brush for contouring/soft-focus finish. But I don't think I will follow every single detail of what they are supposed to do :')

Travel collection is much simple package of brushes. One foundation brush, one multitask brush for all powder products, and one brush for eye makeup. It doesn't have concealer brush nor eye liner brush, but seems like most-needed pack of brush if I pack for a personal travel. I already have pack of mini brushes from Bobbi Brown, but they are somewhat expensive so that I don't want to take a risk of losing/stolen them on trip. I usually brought full-sized cheap drugstore brushes, but they sheds and left hairs on my face. I hope this set doesn't. This set is well-priced, and well-picked one. Brush for eye shadow is definitely needed for sure, face brush for powder ones is absolutely essential not to mention foundation brush. I am not sure about the foundation brush, though. Some are using the multitask brush for foundation, then how can I apply blusher and bronzer?

That's right. I thought I need to mix these collections for my trip. I would like to make my travel package since I go for pleasure travel more than three times a year: in March, May,  and one time in autumn. When I ordered them, the idea crossed my mind and I was like "why not?" It was kinda advanture though, because I've never used them before.

Whole sets feel very soft, and they are denser than my former travel brushes. Blusher brush which I ordered just because it is none of any collection is also feel great on my cheek. I like how it's shaped! It looks like Yachiyo brush from Nars =)

I think I will get starter set sooner later.

I was little tired today, when I picked up my mails. Huge boxes came in, and I know most of them are for me, I should be excited for them coming. But I went to bed at 4am last night because I was so focused reading a book. After 4 hours of sleep, I felt tired but didn't want to go back to sleep. Instead, I bought something from drugstore.

Almay shimmer-i for browns, Clinique concealer, and two of L'oreal Caresse lipsticks.
I already got Almay smokey-i for brown which I really like, and wanted to try this one as well. I like Almay's colour pick up for eye colours. Not like cover girl's line which is my tried-but-not-like-it, Almay's shadow set is both beautiful on my eyes and wearable for everyday.
Clinique concealer is my choice after one month of searching for right concealer. I like that the package is in a pot and I can apply it with a brush that I can easily cleanse. Though I am not sure why the sales person recommended porcelain colour to me, I'm gonna try it.
L'oreal Caresse seems like famous dupe of YSL Glossy stain. It was on 50% sale, and how can I resist to the price like $6.99CAD? Got them in Sunset Angora and Cardinal Plume. Hope they look like the original YSL Glossy stain on my lip XD. I love the colours in the pictures from google, but I am not sure what they will be like on my pale lip.

Sky on Sunday

I still remember a sentence "People these days are so busy that they don't have a second to stop working and watch the sky"  that I read from a textbook.  I don't have a job right now,  but that doesn't mean I have enough time to "look up."
I am doing this posting weekly, so that many people can see the  real sky. No nice photo effect/filter.

Today was good day. I had enough sleep of 9 hours, and one good yoga hour. My husband got home at 8 AM after his night sift, and I am perfectly enjoying me-time. Read daily reads-blogs, 50 pages of book, writing yesterday's diary, yoga,  etc.

I think it is great idea to have one extra room for my self so that I won't wake up someone due to what I do while someone's asleep. I have my room with books, desk for desktop PC, sofa for reading,  and little space for yoga. Nice cozy room indeed.

While I write things about my room, you may think I would take a picture of sky from window of my room. But weather today was too good to take a picture through window. So I took little adventure of going out and take a picture! I saw the sun for an hour, and outdoor temperature 2P M is -21 Celsius. Since it is normal to see the sky darkened at 4 PM, I guess now is the time to take a picture of nice blue sky.

Review: Spa socks

When I was in Toronto, I had no problem with dryness. I had oily to oily combination skill at that time, depending on the season. Now I live in Northern Alberta, and have oily combination for summer, dry combination skin type for winter, and just combination for in-between seasons.

The climate changed my skintype including hands and feet. I got bodyscrub and bodybutter from the body shop, and I love using them on my body and hands. Not on my feet. I just cannot stand or walk right after I applied the product. So I bought pumice stone, foot scrub, bubble foot soak, ped egg, and spa socks. I literally tried them all in nine months, and the best thing is this.

Spa socks!
It looked like normal bed socks in mint green. But it has more than that.
Its inside is coated with gelled oils.

Showing how it's coated

The moisturizing effect seems like good, but not great at first use; the results get better with time. If I wanted fast result, I will use Vaseline. But then, I need to get a steamed tower to wipe off the ointment after some time. Too much work for me. There is no fun like colouring nails. But this sock is much easier to *use*. Put the socks on, and leave it for half an hour. Put your makeup, read a book, or watch TV. And you're good to take that socks off and go. On the box, it says 30 minutes at a time, three times a week, and for three months.
Supply for one quarter at coast of around $30CAD, I am very satisfied with this socks.

With my favourite "slipper"

Some of you may not like the feeling of wearing gel-inside socks while walking. Well, I don't like it. So, this is what I do. I have slipper for my cold feet no matter how high the room temperature is. I am wearing summer clothing now, but that doesn't mean I am not wearing my slipper. This keeps my feet warm, and hold the socks when I'm wearing  the socks so that I can move and do vacuum, walk, run, whatever I like to.

I am posting this because the socks is running out of oils inside, and that reminds me to post this and buy another pair. I'll get another one tomorrow for first quarter of 2013.
